About Alexandra
Alexandra Klein is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and trained in mindful self-compassion. She currently training to be a Life Balance Strategist under Phillip Moffitt and the Life Balance Institute. First introduced to mindfulness in a therapeutic setting over fourteen years ago, she saw the tremendous potential and impact that mindfulness could bring and began to devote her time to deepening her practice. She completed two years of the Intensive Practice Program through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center, which transformed her life: changing her relationship with others, the world and most importantly, herself. Throughout the beginning of this process, she began to share this ancient wisdom and practices with others which ultimately led her to find her life’s purpose—to share these practices with others.
Alexandra received her certification in Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training from the University of California Berkeley’s Greater Good Science and Sounds True under Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (MMTCP Class of 2021). She has trained in Mindful Self Compassion teacher training through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, at the University of California at San Diego. She completed a 60-hour Somatic Trauma Therapy Certification. Currently, she is training to be a Life Balance Strategist through the Life Balance Institute.

She leads drop-in meditation sessions, volunteers at InsightLA, and leads weekly guided meditation classes and Mindful Self Compassion classes for the senior community through the organization Front Porch. She has also guided numerous six-week introductory and heart-centered courses. Alexandra maintains a close relationship with her mentor and continues to work with a Life Balance strategist, ensuring her own practice remains vibrant and aligned.

Why Work With Me?
At 19, my life was shattered by the sudden and tragic loss of my father. For years, I searched tirelessly for healing, trying every therapy I could find. True change didn’t come until I discovered Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). It was through the mindfulness component of DBT that I experienced my first taste of freedom—the realization that I could create space between stimulus and response. In that space, I could choose my response and, in doing so, reclaim my power. Viktor Frankl’s profound words echo this transformation: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
Mindfulness became my anchor. It taught me to respond rather than react, bringing clarity and intentionality to my life. But even more, it unlocked the door to self-compassion. Having struggled deeply with shame and self-doubt, learning to treat myself with kindness felt like a revolution. With time, I began to see myself as a dear friend, to accept myself fully, and to heal with grace and understanding.
As my practice deepened, through retreats and immersive training, I felt a calling—a profound connection to this work. I knew I wanted to share these life-changing tools with others, helping them avoid the unnecessary suffering I had endured. Becoming a certified mindfulness teacher allowed me to do just that, while also strengthening my commitment to my own growth and well-being.
Later, during a period of personal struggle, my mentor, Celeste Young, introduced me to Life Balance work. This was a turning point. By aligning my actions with my core values, I gained the clarity and confidence to navigate life’s challenges. I realized the transformative power of choice—not just in what I do, but also in what I choose not to do. This newfound awareness created a freedom and sense of purpose I never thought possible.
Deeply moved by the impact of this work, I became a certified Life Balance Strategist. I saw how seamlessly mindfulness, self-compassion, and life balance strategies could come together to empower people to live fully aligned lives. These practices help individuals meet life’s inevitable ups and downs with resilience, wisdom, and compassion, creating a life they’re truly proud to live.
This is the work that changed my life, and it is my mission to help others experience the same transformation. Whether through mindfulness, self-compassion, or life balance strategy, I am here to guide you in unlocking your potential, discovering your values, and building a life filled with meaning, freedom, and growth. Let’s walk this path together.
